The 2025.Q2.5 release includes new reporting capabilities, additional dependency options in projects, and new Workspace Manager functionality to unblock workflows. It also includes usability improvements and minor bug fixes.

Reporting Enhancements

This release includes two enhancements to reporting:

Latest Approved Document Reports: Reports can now be configured to display the latest approved version of a document. This can help you more easily track information on controlled documents. This week, you can expect to see any controlled document reports (including SOP reports) update to refer to the latest approved version of a document, rather than the latest overall version.

Workflow reporting enhancements: Workflow reports will now include a more detailed description of the document status, including when the document is ready for the next workflow step and when it has been rejected in a review step. This can be found in the Workflow Step column of the Workflow Status Report.

Dependencies

Task dependencies in projects now allow for:

  • Finish to Start

  • Finish to Finish

  • Start to Start

  • Start to Finish

This allows project managers more flexibility in building projects and templates with complex dependencies. Dependencies will continue to automatically calculate task start/end dates and durations when configuring a project in Kivo.

Workspace Manager Tools for Switching Document Owner

A Workspace Manager in your organization will now be able to switch the Owner of a document to any other eligible user with the appropriate permissions. They can do this in the Active Workflows section, available to Workspace Managers. This allows managers to unblock workflows when a team members is out of office or otherwise unable to complete a workflow step.

A full list of changes will be loaded into your validation cabinet in Kivo. Look for the validation documentation for release 2025.Q2.5.
