This release is primarily focused on stability and minor bug fixes for current features as well as laying the groundwork for the upcoming release of configurable workflows. Notable new features are highlighted below.

Bulk Lock and Unlock Documents

The Bulk Action tools available in the DMS now support bulk locking and unlocking documents. This is helpful to quickly set a locked state across a large number of documents or to get documents locked to then apply a bulk approval. To use the Bulk Actions feature, select multiple files in the DMS by Shift or Ctrl-clicking to select the files. Then select the appropriate action from the Bulk Action pane that displays.

More granular permissions for viewing and downloading documents

Workspaces using Kivo's latest permission model can now control two additional aspects of document access. First, users can be explicitly granted the permission to view draft versions of documents. This is especially helpful for quality documents where you may not want most users to see draft versions of documents like SOPs.

This release also adds controls for downloading documents. Users can be granted one of three permissions:

  • Download all versions (source and PDF)

  • Download approved PDF renditions only

  • No downloads

Improvements to linking activities together

Activities can now be linked together across types. This is primarily useful to link items like a quality activity to a vendor record. Or an investigator change to a regulatory submission.

A full list of changes will be loaded into your Validation folder in Kivo. Look for the validation documentation for release 2024.Q2.6.
