This release includes a series of improvements to usability, backend infrastructure, and bug fixes. In addition, the following new features are available in the system.
DocuSign e-Signature Support
Kivo can now be configured to use DocuSign's Part-11 e-signature product to generate and send documents as part of a sign and approve workflow. This feature is not enabled in workspaces by default. If you are currently configured to use Adobe Sign, or do not have e-signature enabled there is no behavior change in your system. Please contact Support to enable this feature.
Metadata Changes on Approved Document Versions
Kivo can now be configured to allow metadata editing on approved versions, This feature is not enabled in workspaces by default. The purpose of this feature is to allow metadata fields, like effective date, to be updated after training has been completed after approving an SOP. When this feature is enabled, the user is prompted for a reason for change on the metadata update, which is captured in the audit trail. Please contact Support to enable this feature.
Field Sets for Activity Records
Activity Records in Kivo Go for Regulatory Activities (Correspondence, Commitments, etc.), Quality Activities (CAPAs, Deviations, etc.) and Vendors and Sites now support a new field structure called field sets. Field sets allow you to capture multiple related values.
An example would be capturing investigator or vendor information such as contact information. A contact information field set can be defined that includes:
Name
Email
Phone number
Role (Principal Investigator, Site Coordinator, etc.)
Multiple contact entries can be captured for each record. This will support common uses cases in change controls, CAPAs, vendors and more.
A full list of changes will be loaded into your Validation folder in Kivo. Look for the validation documentation for release 2024.Q1.3.
